Today OpenAI held its DevDay keynote, and the headline product is called dots — an always-on AI agent that lives inside ChatGPT, runs on its own cloud computer, and keeps working even after you close the chat.

Instead of a chatbot that waits for you to type something, you get a dot — a persistent little agent that remembers context across your apps, keeps a running to-do list, and checks back in when it's done.
